OUR VISION

NETWORK [net-wurk] noun

An interconnected group or system

We are connecting the dots, building the bridges, and making the connections throughout rural, suburban and urban Colorado to build communication, support and strength within LGBTQ youth communities. The QYS network we have built and continue to grow is a force that works to tear down the walls of isolation, connecting youth to each other, uplifting youth voices and building community and movements for social justice.

CATALYZE [kat-uhl-ahyz]verb

Bring about, inspire, cause an action or process to begin

The Queer Youth Summit is a day to spark your imagination and fuel LGBTQ youth's passion for fighting for their communities. Through art, media, skill-shares, workshops and performances we come together to share the creative and innovative ways youth are involved in to create justice and shape the world around them. We live for the "Ah-ha" moment, when an action, individual, or word inspires us and to act.

MOBILIZE [moh-buh-lahyz]verb

To organize, bring together, prepare, for an action, purpose

The Queer Youth Summit is more than a day-long conference. It is a tool for us to connect, inspire and engage youth throughout the year. The network of organizations and people who make the Summit possible are all doing incredible youth-led work year-round, providing outlets for youth to put the skills and knowledge they learn at the Summit into action. Each summit builds on the previous year, increasing and strengthening the number of 'By Youth, For Youth' projects, events and campaigns happening in Colorado.

LIBERATE [lib-uh-reyt]verb

To set free, as from oppression, confinement, discrimination or control

We are working for nothing short of liberation for all of our people, all of our communities, all of our families, all over the world! How ever small our actions are, they are apart of a greater movement for liberation. This is our legacy.
